MEHK X CUHK Local Outreach for 'Go Global' Workshop

Medicine has long been one of Hong Kong’s strongest suits in terms of international conferences. Meetings and Exhibitions Hong Kong (MEHK) and the Faculty of Medicine of Chinese University Hong Kong (CUHK) have joined forces to launch a co-hosted workshop on 3 April 2017 at Prince of Wales Hospital, encouraging local medical professionals to take their events onto the world stage and benefit from MEHK’s all-round support.

With over 60 attendees from 14 departments including professors and doctors from a wide variety of medical disciplines, the workshop kicked off with a panel discussion on the critical success factors and impact on medical communities of international medical conferences held in Hong Kong. Key speakers included Professor Henry Chan, Director of Office of Global Engagement at CUHK, Professor Justin Wu, Associate Dean of Development and Professor Linda Lam, Chairman, Department of Psychiatry. A presentation from MEHK followed to explain the all-round support it offers for hosting international conferences, from bidding to hospitality services for MICE delegates in the city.

Let’s hear what experienced medical professionals said about this workshop:

“Hong Kong’s strong medical history, strategic location and professional support place it in a powerful position to host international medical conferences. This ‘Go Global’ workshop builds a perfect platform for Hong Kong medical professionals to learn the best from the best and take the very first steps onto the world stage.”

Professor Henry Chan
Director of Office of Global Engagement, Faculty of Medicine, CUHK

"It takes enormous time and professional conference know-how to go from local to global. With the 'Go Global' workshop, we have gained access to the wide range of professional support that MEHK has to offer, which makes it easier for local doctors to bring their academic efforts to the international audience, thereby benefiting both Hong Kong and regional medical communities. I'm looking forward to hosting my first-ever International medical conference, right here in Hong Kong."
