Watches & Wonders 2014

In 2013, Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie held its first Watches & Wonders event in Hong Kong. As per the organisation’s stated goals, the event proceeded smoothly and efficiently, and managed to secure the attendance of leading watch collectors from across Asia and watch brands from around the world.

For its 2014 event, the foundation wanted to expand on that success to produce an equally, if not more, successful show. To do that, it needed to choose, once more, a host city that evokes luxury, is easily accessible from across Asia, is efficient from an event-management standpoint, and is appreciative of the connoisseurship and craftsmanship underpinning its events.

After a thorough search it was clear that Hong Kong would again be the location of choice. The city’s high concentration of luxury outlets provided the ideal backdrop for the event. It’s easily accessible – just four hours’ flight from every major city in Asia – with a large population of watch aficionados, and world-class efficiency. The decision paid off in spades, attracting some 16,000 attendees and 800 journalists, as well as 13 of the world’s top watch brands.

Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie has since committed to host its third Watches & Wonders event in Hong Kong in late 2015.

“We are truly grateful for the warm reception and welcome [from Hong Kong] and we’ll be back in September 2015.”

Fabienne Lupo Chairwoman and managing director, Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie

“Hong Kong is geographically very central in Asia and convenient from an organisational standpoint. In fact, with Watches & Wonders, we clearly would like to see the city become the hub of fine watchmaking in Asia.”

Jerome Cazenave Director of operations, Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie
