Asian Pacific Digestive Week 2017
Titled ‘The Future in Digestive Diseases’, the Asian Pacific Digestive Week 2017 was held in Hong Kong for the first time from 23–26 September 2017 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. The mega conference welcomed over 2,800 doctors and medical professionals from 44 countries for a four-day experience and expertise sharing session. To bring the event to the city, MEHK offered comprehensive consultation services, from the bidding stage all the way through to securing overseas pre-promotion, in-town hospitality privileges and special airfare, as well as proposing creative ideas for social functions and cultural performances at the opening ceremony, with a broad range of support and limitless ideas.
A concerted effort of seven local societies, the programme included cutting-edge technology, advances in research and clinical practice in digestive diseases. The conference concluded at a doctor-approved dining venue — the Jumbo Kingdom, one of Hong Kong’s most famous floating restaurants.
"Hong Kong has a very strong reputation for scientific and clinical research as well as for its diversity, East-meets-West culture and robust dining scene for social activities. The city’s professional standing, best-in-class MICE settings and leisure offerings translate to strong drawing power anytime."
Professor Khean-lee Goh
President, Asian Pacific Digestive Week Federation (APDWF)
"HKTB has been working closely with us every step of the way from securing the venue, trade partners and government subvention to contributing significantly to our bid document and promoting our event at an earlier convention. This has enabled us to stage one of the most prestigious and memorable events."
