Lamma Island
Less than a half-hour ferry ride from Central, Lamma Island is home to a cluster of open-air seafood restaurants. The island is a fabulous destination to experience the culture of a traditional fishing village.
Both the island’s main villages - Sok Kwu Wan and Yung Shue Wan – offer a selection of dining choices but it is the seafood in Sok Kwu Wan that will excite most visitors. The bay is full of family-run restaurants raised on stilts. The menus are seasonal with firm favourites such as fresh chilli crab, garlic prawns, deep-fried squid; and steamed fish with ginger and spring onions available all year round. Take the time to soak in the laid-back lifestyle and enjoy the island’s good hiking trails and beaches.
