The fishing village of Lei Yue Mun first came to prominence in the 1960s when it became a destination for fresh seafood, sparking a trend for the customer selecting live seafood that was then prepared and served. A cluster of restaurants has sprung up in the village and since 1992 the Lei Yue Mun Seafood Festival has been an annual event. Cantonese opera performances and lion dances fill the streets, and promotional offers make dining more than affordable.
This destination is ideally suited to medium-sized MICE groups who are interested in getting a first-hand glimpse of local life. The village is on the Kowloon side of the harbour, at its eastern edge.
