Sai Kung Seafood Street

Sai Kung, what was once a destination for few people other than fishermen is now a fashionable city retreat, with great seafood restaurants. The promenade – appropriately named Seafood Street – is lined with eateries. The number of dining options here makes group bookings simple. Live fish, everything from garoupa to lobster, are displayed in tanks at the front of the restaurants. In addition to the standard menu, customers are welcome to order their fish cooked their way. Or buy straight from fishing boats and sampans.

The promenade connects to the town and enjoys wonderful views out over the bay to the islands offshore. The largely rural district with its gardens and parks is a relaxing antidote to modern urban Hong Kong.
