The Peak Tram
Every MICE visitor agrees that The Peak Tram is one authentic side to the city that can't be missed. The 1.27 km scenic trip to the one of the highest points on Hong Kong Island passes through a kaleidoscope of history, moving through the city's leafy interior, on a steep gradient anywhere up to 25.7 degrees, before arriving at an entertainment district with a view that complements any celebration.
In 1888, the tram was state of the art. Today it is one of the world's oldest funicular railways. Pulled by steel cables, the tram rises from 33 metres to 396 metres above sea level. It is an experience any MICE group will appreciate and as close to time travel as you can get. Planners can arrange an exclusive party for between 100 and 210 guests in a private Peak Tram, one way or return. Group fares are available for advance bookings of more than 15 guests.
The funicular railway experience has been made more enjoyable, efficient and comfortable following the completion of the Peak Tramways overhaul in 2022. Now, the 6th generation modern-classic Peak Tram offers greater capacity to cut waiting time, and the newly renovated termini offer upgraded facilities, with brand-new in-station entertainment in 5 engaging zones: Go Wild at the Eye of Infinity, The Beating Heart, An Icon is Born, Once Upon a Tram, and Go Wild at Peak at the Central Terminus. It is hands-down one of the most spectacular must-sees for visitors from around the world.
