Exhilarating horse-racing party
Horse racing has a long history in Hong Kong, dating back to 1841. Especially famous are the Wednesday night races at Happy Valley Racecourse. The carnival-like atmosphere is electric, with tens of thousands of racing fans cheering on their favourite horses. There are a number of venues for groups to join the fun of one of the city’s favourite pastimes.
The track-side Beer Garden provides an up-close and outdoor view of the action, with plenty of cold beer and snacks to go around. Groups may charter an exclusive zone. Stable Bend Terrace or the private boxes three floors up have commanding views of the winning post, and boast well-curated cuisine and wine. Racing specialists are on hand to share their tips and strategies to take the evening to a climax.
