2024 Yum China RGM Convention

For the first time, Mainland’s Fortune 500 restaurant giant Yum China has selected Hong Kong to hold its annual 2024 Yum China RGM Convention. Yum China is the largest restaurant company in Mainland China, operating more than 15,000 restaurants under various brands in about 2,200 cities and towns. More than 11,000 of the group’s managers from all over the Mainland gathered for a day-long meeting, followed by leisure activities to experience Hong Kong’s iconic attractions, theme parks and local delicacies. The staging of this large-scale event reinforced Hong Kong’s status as a premier destination for meetings and incentives travel.

A fruitful day of meeting was held on 16 December at AsiaWorld-Expo, packing in CEO updates and strategy sharing, award presentations and performances by Hong Kong artiste Ms. Gigi Leung and Yum’s team members.

With business done, attendees seized the opportunity to explore Hong Kong in different ways. Favourite highlights included taking in breathtaking day and night vistas from the Peak and Avenue of Stars, magical fun at Hong Kong Disneyland and Ocean Park, night bus tour and marvelous ride on Ngong Ping 360, and city walks through streets made famous in Hong Kong TV dramas and movies, with plenty of photo opportunities and sampling of local delicacies. It was a total immersion in the metropolis’s East-meets-West culture with a mix of contemporary and traditional flavours.

Hong Kong is my second home and I have always hoped to bring restaurant managers to the city for a visit. Hong Kong is an exceptionally efficient city filled with energy and traces of human touch, and the city features a cultural fusion of east and west which makes it an international food paradise. I look forward to our colleagues taking this opportunity to explore Hong Kong in depth and experience the rich tourism and flavors of the city. I also want to give my special thanks to HKTB for its immense support and hospitality, which has allowed our team to enjoy such a memorable visit.

Chief Executive Officer, Yum China
I enjoyed going to the Peak and Victoria Harbour. I especially enjoyed experiencing Hong Kong’s nightlife along the streets in Central, and there are a lot of scenic spots from Hong Kong’s television dramas which I wanted to see with my own eyes. Hong Kong is a city that blends the modern and trendy with vintage history, and I wish to bring my family to visit the city again in future.

Hong Kong is an international metropolitan city that features a prosperous commerce, amazing delicacies, a spectacular Victoria Harbour, and a diverse and accommodating culture. In addition to traditional attractions such as Causeway Bay and the Victoria Harbour, I also like visiting Mong Kok and Yau Ma Tei, because most of the scenes in Hong Kong’s crime movies are from there.
Fu Weidong
Restaurant manager
It’s my second time in Hong Kong and I want to visit some different places in the city such as taking a sightseeing bus for a night tour of Hong Kong and riding the Ngong Ping 360 cable cars. My impression of Hong Kong is that it is a prosperous financial centre and an international metropolitan city. The night skyline of the Victoria Harbour also offers such a stunning view.
