The 16th Asia Pacific Heart Rhythm Society Scientific Session
in conjunction with CardioRhythm

The largest scientific conference of heart rhythm in the Asia-Pacific region returned to Hong Kong 10 years after the event was last held in the city in 2013. The 16th Asia Pacific Heart Rhythm Society Scientific Session (APHRS 2023) in conjunction with CardioRhythm took place from 1 to 3 September at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.

With the theme "Embracing the Breakthroughs", the flagship medical convention in Hong Kong gathered more than 2, 300 cardiac experts from around the world to exchange the latest knowledge and ideas. It also gained diverse support from co-organisers and supporting organisations that are major regional cardiology associations in Hong Kong and the Mainland, including the Hong Kong College of Cardiology (HKCC) and the Chinese Society of Pacing and Electrophysiology (CPSE).

Apart from the highlighted annual scientific session, the delegates also exchanged and gained insights from a range of lectures, case demonstrations, clinical trial presentations and workshops.

The success of this event not only consolidated the city’s reputation as a global leader in medical events, but also showcased Hong Kong’s role as a "super-connector" between the Chinese Mainland and the international community in various professions.

Hong Kong’s strong government support for medical events, the city’s advanced healthcare system and strategic advantage as a hub for medical care made it an ideal destination to host this major cardiology conference.

We’re thrilled to host APHRS in Hong Kong again after 10 years. It’s one of the largest congresses after the pandemic, thanks to Hong Kong’s high professional standing in the medical field and the professional event industry staff. All these contributed to the success hosting of a large-scale international event.
Professor Wataru Shimizu
President of Asia Pacific Heart Rhythm Society (2023)
Hong Kong has both the hardware and software for hosting international medical conventions. The city has a professional medical community and dedicated convention organisers. In terms of fundamentals, Hong Kong is located in the heart of Asia that is easily accessible from everywhere around the world, with first-class convention centres and numerous hotel options, not to mention the comprehensive support from the Hong Kong Tourism Board.
Professor Chu-Pak Lau
Past President of Hong Kong College of Cardiology
As a Hong Kong Convention Ambassador, I together with the Hong Kong College of Cardiology will continue to work with the Hong Kong Tourism Board to bring more international cardiology conferences. It’s very important to improve the exchange between cardiologists all over the world and to enhance the standard of healthcare in the community.
