Hong Kong Celebrates Old & New Cultural Offerings at IMEX America 2019

Hong Kong returned to the ninth edition of IMEX America in Las Vegas on 10–12 September 2019 alongside 12 leading tour, hotel and venue partners.  Over 150 hosted buyer appointments were conducted, but IMEX America is not just about business.

To celebrate the host of rich cultural offerings Hong Kong has to offer, MEHK invited buyers and planners to six exclusive sessions of tea appreciation, allowing participants to take a sip and enjoy a relaxing moment while learning about the history of brewing traditional Chinese tea.

Yet, it's just a part of the latest 'Hong Kong Rewards!' programme, where planners are offered a kaleidoscope of complimentary cultural activities to enrich event experiences. From a kung fu class to learn about ancient martial arts from local masters to refresh the mind, body and soul; a Chinese handicrafts class to experience the creation of Chinese knotting, rainbow calligraphy or flour doll making; to spectacular cultural performances like face-changing or lion dance, there's a variety of experiences.

The city also introduces many new and revitalised sites that are perfect for memorable events, including Tai Kwun - a former police compound where visitors can sip cocktails behind bars, The Mills - a former textiles factory with trendy team workshops and a unique place for cultural retail therapy, and the West Kowloon Cultural District's Xiqu Centre where delegates can enjoy the rich heritage of Cantonese opera while sampling dim sum.

The city has a wide variety of rich cultural encounters to give your event an extra boost, from venues to experiences, start planning your next event in Hong Kong!
