The Big Buddha and Po Lin Monastery

Take journey of enlightenment

Enchant your MICE delegates with a serene and spiritual excursion to one of Hong Kong’s most important Buddhist centres. This delightful ‘Journey of Enlightenment’ begins at bustling modern Tung Chung, near the airport, where you board Skyrail for a cable car for an amazing 5.7-kilometre ride that gently carries you up the towering mountains of Lantau. The spectacular journey ends at a mountain plateau with the appearance of Ngong Ping Village, which features various culturally-themed attractions, plus unusual shops. Nearby is the awesome Giant Buddha, the world’s tallest seated statue, and Po Lin Monastery, which serves healthy and delicious vegetarian food. Another serene attraction is Wisdom Path, an outdoor replica of the centuries-old Heart Sutra prayer.

[ Remarks: The Big Buddha is currently undergoing renovations and the areas in the vicinity of the Big Buddha statue will be closed during the maintenance period. All other religious ceremonies and events will continue as usual, please check the official website before you visit. ]
